This is a traditional cretan salad that can also be served as side dish or main dish for someone who wishes to eat light, especially during a hot summer day.
- 8 ntakakia (baked slices of bread made with barley)
- 3 tomatoes
- 150 grams Feta cheese
- olives (Kalamata style)
- olive oil
- First grate the fresh tomatoes with a grater and keep it in a plate. Then, crumble the feta cheese with your hands and keep it in another plate.
- Place the ntakakia at a plate, add the grated tomatoes (using a tablespoon) to cover the dried bread. The liquid will soften the bread, especially if the tomatoes are mature enough.
- Then, add the feta cheese on top of the tomatoe and season with oregano and olive oil on top. You can add some olives in the plate or slices of olives on top of the cheese.
