Ingredients

  • 0,5 courgette
  • 2 carrots
  • 25 gram Couscous
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil extra virgion & bio

Instructions

  • Carefully choose the ingredients: the couscous, two good sized carrots and a half a large courgette. This should be enough for a meal of a baby between 11 and 12 months old.
  • Peel the skin of the vegetables and wash with drinkable water.
  • Cut the vegetables in cubes.
  • Place the vegetables in a small saucepan, wash with drinkable water, rinse and add drinkable water to cover them (about 1 litre) depending on the saucepan's size. When the water is warm add the couscous.
  • Boil / cook for about 30-45 minutes depending on the heat, the water and the vegetables. Make sure that there is enough water in the saucepan at all times (if necessary add some). It is important that the mix does not dry in order for the puree to be tender and liquid enough. However, you may have the opposite problem (too liquid) in which case you can let it cook a bit longer in low fire. You can check if the vegetables are cooked using a fork. Always take precautions, keep the baby away from the saucepan and protect yourself from the boiling water.
  • Prepare the veloute: add the cooked couscous with the vegetables and the olive oil in a blender-bowl and mash them using a small blender. It is rather tricky to do this by hand.

Notes

Tip: adjust quantities based on your baby's needs
Tip: prefer bio / organic couscous and vegetables.
